The Caisse populaire Dieppe Vélodrome The Velodrome Caisse populaire Dieppe, the pride of our Centre was completed in July 2001, is an important, and logical component of the Centre and is the only one East of Bromont.
Over a distance of 250m (12% in the straits and 38.9% in the turns), this plywood surface velodrome is the work of engineer Peter Junek. In all, we can find 340 trusses and 820 sheets of plywood. (see our construction photos) It serves as a work tool and training facility for not only top level athletes, but is also be opened for everyone eager to challenge himself to a test of high speed cycling as well as to participate in our Cycling Academy Program. ![]() The construction and completion of the Velodrome Caisse populaire Dieppe still brings a lot of questions to our many curious visitors. The construction was a partnership between the private sector Caisse populaire Dieppe, all three levels of government City of Dieppe, Government of New Brunswick and the Government of Canada, the Canadian Cycling Association as well as Velo NB and its Atlantic partners. To this velodrome are added an important track bike fleet. The objective of these 24 track bikes is to let everyone initiate itself to track cycling. ![]() During the Summer of 2006, the Caisse populaire Dieppe received a face lift from the City of Dieppe. The complete infield was done and many other renovations were completed to get the track up to standard for the Tim Hortons Track National Championships. This event was held twice (2006 and 2007) and it was named Canadian event of the year in those two years. For the Velodrome Caisse populaire Dieppe schedule, check out the calendar on the main (news) page of our web site. In this section:
