As part of this volunteer week, today marks the day Dieppe rewards its most dedicated volunteers. This year, the National Cycling Centre is very please to underline the enormous work done Charles Cormier.
During the 2009 season, Charles was heavily involved in with the National Cycling Centre at several levels. Sitting on the Centre’s Corporation as a representative of cycling clubs of the Greater Moncton area, he offered his services to support our Head Coach as a driver during the National Junior Championships.
Back in Dieppe after this long journey, he continued with his hard work in the renovations Velodrome Caisse populaire Dieppe. As soon as the work was completed, he ran many initiation courses (track 101); a task he accomplished successfully. At the end of the season, he took responsibility for organizing the Atlantic Track championships.
During the past few months, even with the snow on the ground, he led the very important task to seek funding the save the Caisse populaire Dieppe Vélodrome in order to host future national track championships once again in Dieppe.
The National Cycling Centre would also like to take this opportunity to thank the many volunteers, without whom, the Centre would not exist as we know it. Weather it’s on from the administrative side, to organizing events, to the hard labour of fixing our facilities, to trail building, all are greatly appreciated from the minutes to the hours offered.
Thanks to all, and congratulations to Charles Cormier for his dedication during the past 12 months.
