Want racing for the whole family? You are invited to participate in the premiere Speed Warp Weekend. The event will be held at the Caisse Populaire Dieppe Velodrome and the Subway BMX Track, on Aug 2, 3 & 4th. Join us in this radically different combination weekend of road, track and BMX races.
Starting with Friday night – on tap is BMX training and time trials for seeding. For the non-BMXers there will be social time on the Velodrome infield. Saturday morning has BMX racing and a Track 101 course.
On Saturday afternoon the racing switches to the Velodrome and will include a prologue event for the Mike’s Bike Shop Club Stage Race – riders who wish to receive placing in the Road Race must ride the prologue. The prologue track race will also count toward the omnium for the track. Other track events will include fun sprints on the Saturday evening followed by a BBQ.
Sunday morning will have the 40 km Memramcook road race – the second stage of the Mike’s Mike Shop Club stage race. Finish up Sunday with some more events on the track – points race, kilo and pursuits will round out the omnium events for the velodrome. So pick your races – race ‘em all if you dare – there will be special prize for the rider that competes and places the highest in all the offered events.
Monday is reserved for a rain date for the track and BMX events – if the weather co-operates and all events go according to schedule we will hold a group ride out to Shediac and back.
